Magazine The Banker – a publication of The Financial Times Business Institutional group – was pleased to present dr. Željko Rohatinski, the governor of the Central bank of Croatia, with the Banker Award 2008 for the best Central bank governor in the world.

This award is one of the numerous domestic and foreign recognitions for the governer of the Central bank of Croatia. It is also a further acknowledgement of stability of Croatian banking market. The global credit crisis hit hard in 2008 and banks across the globe felt the impact. But despite the financial turmoil, banking sector in Croatia managed creditable performances and record results.
