The Croatian Parliament adopted the Law on procedure and conditions in construction undertakings pursuant to which the competent bodies will issue the building permit within 45 days.

The Law relates to the edifices which, until recently, needed both the location permit and the main project attestation, whereas the new Law, instead of the two aforementioned documents prescribes only one: building permit. That permit, upon presentation of all requested documentation will be issued within 45-day-period.

The competent authorities in regions and cities will issue permits for investments up to 10 mil Euro, while for projects, exceeding 10 mil. Euro, the Ministry for environmental protection, urban planning and construction will issue the permits.

All ministries and public companies to be contacted prior to issuing the permit, which are to issue due authorizations (for electricity, gas, public utilities or similar) will have to issue them within eight days. It shall otherwise be regarded as if they present no objections or observations whatsoever.
