ECONOMY

CROATIA

Economy – survey :

After the crush of the Berlin Wall, Croatia has failed to attract the first “wave” of foreign investments in Eastern Europe, due to the political instability in the region (1991-1995).
In the year 2000, after the recovery period and ever since, the Croatian economy marked a strong development, with the GDP of  3-6 %. The national currency and the exchange rate are stable.  The conservative policy of the Croatian National Bank has brought to the macroeconomic stability of the country, which has shown rather immune to the new global economic dislocations (recession).
Note: The renown magazine 'The Banker' declared the Croatian National Bank’ s governor,  the best European and World central banker for the year 2008.This recognition represents additional recognition to the stability of the Croatian financial sector.
